The purpose of the English curriculum is to improve a student’s ability to think, read, and write effectively. This purpose is accomplished through activities which require a student to analyze and evaluate written texts and to apply principles of effective communication to his own writing. The exposure to noted literary works offers worthy models for student imitation and acquaints students with enduring literary achievements. A student may declare a minor in English by successful completion of the 12 required credits and a minimum of 6 additional credits from the elective list below.

The purpose of the History curriculum is to educate students in how human societies change over time: in daily lives; through commerce; in response to crisis; and in interaction with other cultures in order to prepare them to understand and appropriately analyze their world in a manner that will spiritually strengthen each student to appreciate God’s providence in every circumstance of the past. A student may declare a minor in history by successfully completing the 18 required credits and a minimum of 2 additional credits from the elective list below:

A student may declare a minor in mathematics by successfully completing 18 credits in mathematics.
The Missions curriculum is designed for missionaries, pastors, outreach ministry leaders, and laypeople who want to raise their cultural IQ and become a more vibrant witness of the gospel to all the people groups of the earth. While serving to prepare or deepen the theological knowledge and cross-cultural skills of students already called – or considering a call – to a foreign mission field, the curriculum will also consider the local church’s need to reach immigrant families in the Unites States. The Youth Ministries curriculum prepares students for ministering to young people and their families through a variety of programs in the context of the local church. Special emphasis is given to understanding and effectively working with those who are in their teen years. A Youth Ministries minor can be earned through 18 credit hours chosen from the following courses:
